Laure Fillette, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and researcher specializing in addictions. She is affiliated with Université Paris Cité and practices in Paris, France. Her research focuses on self-help programs and the role of temporal processes in the treatment of addictions, particularly smoking cessation.
Self-help interventions represent an accessible and cost-effective approach to smoking cessation. Yet, their efficacy depends on the user’s ability to engage with a structured process over time. Addiction often disrupts temporal perception and self-regulation, making adherence to predefined sequences challenging. The Two Weeks to Quit (TWTQ) program was designed to test whether a time-based, structured self-help framework could promote behavioral change and abstinence.
